Poetry…Friday?

25 Jan

I’M SORRY I’M A HORRIBLE PERSON! I just have issues with commuting to doing something regularly without reminding myself (except watch Glee every Thursday at 8), so I suppose I’ll share poetry with you all now?
This next poem isn’t mine, but I just really like it, so I’m sharing it with you all!

We live in deeds, not years; in thoughts, not breaths
by Philip James Bailey

We live in deeds, not years; in thoughts, not breaths;
In feelings, not in figures on a dial.
We should count time by heart-throbs. He most lives
Who thinks most, feels the noblest, acts the best.
And he whose heart beats quickest lives the longest:
Lives in one hour more than in years do some
Whose fat blood sleeps as it slips along their veins.
Life’s but a means unto an end; that end,
Beginning, mean, and end to all things—God.
The dead have all the glory of the world.

Well, lovely dreamers, I hope you enjoyed this Poetry Friday, and that it inspired you to go out and do something remarkable!

Peace, Love, and Remarkable Doings,
Cassidy

Whoa It’s Already Poetry Wednesday

9 Jan

Hello, Dreamers!

It’s Poetry Wednesday! Today, I shall show to you my last poem, and I’m not sure if it’s as good as my other poems, but here you are! It is, again, an ekphrastic poem.

Christina’s World by Andrew Wyeth

Image

A World of My Own

Alone,

Like a blue jay with no one to hear my song

Or a beautiful flower in the middle of the woods.

I create a world of my own,

Where pain and suffering does not exist

And tears are ne’er shed.

O’er by the house

Or closer to the barn,

I find myself being drawn away

To this glorious place

I call my own.

*bows*

So yeah, I don’t think I like this one as much as my other poems, but thank you for reading!

I hope the rest of your week is wonderful!

Peace, Love, and Poems,

Cassidy

Poetry Wednesday 2.0

19 Dec

Happy Poetry Wednesday!

Here’s another ekphrastic poem written by yours truly:

Little Blackfoot River by Ned Mueller

Image

I am the wind –

carrier of the senses.

I rush above the river,

like a racecar driving to

the finish line at the end.

I give a breeze to those around,

Through the leaves falling from trees,

Or the way the grass may bend.

Running up one’s spine and toes.

I am singing a sweet song

That few people understand,

Except for those who know me.

One might see the work I do –

I may carry a sweet smell

To those willing to let me in

Of whatever I may bring.

I am the wind –

Carrier of the senses.

*bows* Hah, just kidding. That one sucks, too, but oh welllll!

So, tomorrow I’ll finish my last of seven final exams! THANK THE LORD BABY JESUS CHRIST.

After tomorrow, we are officially off of school for two weeks. That’s a break I really need. I just I can’t do anything anymore. Studying has taken all of me.It’s horrible.

Oh, and the world ends in two days.

Lol. Riiiiiight.

I say the Mayans just got lazy and decided not to finish the calendar, but that’s just me.

Peace, Love, and Christmas Time is Here (~cue Peanuts kids~),
